Malbec - Salentein Reserve
Wine #3.. 4?
So Wine #1 was a Mackadaet. Wine #2 was a Riesling and Wine #3 was a Gewurztraminer.
Wine #5 is the first wine enjoyed with this project in mind. In that respect this wine will be fairly special.
Wine #5: Salentein Reserve Malbec
Veridal: Malbec
Country: Argentina
Region: Valley De Uco, Eastern Andes
Vintage: 2013
ABV: 14%
My Tasting Notes:
Companion Notes:
Professional Notes:
Rating:
3.5/5
Pairing:
While originally tasted with a clean palate, this Malbec was eventually enjoyed with a 3-hour sous vide rib-eye, topped with bourbon caramelized onions and a balsamic-Merlot reduction sauce. Sides included roasted Yukon gold potatoes with a rosemary and garlic infused oil, topped with Parmesan, lemon zest, and flat parsley, in addition to a small spring salad.
The acidity of this Malbec worked wonderfully with the juicy rib-eye.
